| Goole Play and App Store, with apps |
We download many apps from the App Store or Play Store. Some of which are social media apps, tools, and daily use apps. There are some games. Without apps, smartphones are kindly less useable.
We use apps either for our requirements or to experience something new. But the question that must have crossed our minds at some point was whether the apps we download are safe?
Here we will use the word "store" for the App Store, Microsoft Store, and Play Store.
When developers have to publish the app on the store. The developers have to follow the policies and guidelines of the store owner that could be Apple, Microsoft, or Google. It depends Upon where they have to publish it.
There is mention of the security of app users in these policies & guidelines. But still when developers launch their app on the store, Then that app has to go through a security scan. If the app is secure, then it will launch.
Solution
We do not need any anti-virus apps to protect against these threats. Because the creator knows everything about its product. Google, Apple, and Microsoft know how their systems can get damaged. They have dedicated security teams for this that work 24/7. The only thing we have to do is, take precautions.
Precautions
- Don't install new apps that are developed by the new developer.
- Don't install "Earn by Play" apps.
- Only download apps from authorized stores. Don't download apps from third-party stores or websites. If you are using an Android smartphone, use the Google play store. If you use Apple products use App Store, and use Microsoft store for Microsoft OS.
- Don't install any anti-virus app.
